Uncontrollably Fond 함부로 애틋하게
September 08, 2016
After seeing him play supporting roles in dramas such as ‘To the Beautiful You’ to the bad boy demeanor in ‘The Heirs’, it is a bliss to see the spotlight fall on Kim Woo Bin as he plays the main character in ‘Uncontrollably Fond’. I’ve heard a lot about Suzy Bae and it was the first time that I have ever seen her in a drama. Her character, in particular, goes through a lot of hardships yet despite that she manages to maintain this bubbly presence that makes her instantly lovable.

Uncontrollably Fond has rightly been labeled as a
melodrama. It is a love story between Shin Joon Young (Woo Bin) and Noh Eul
(Suzy) that goes to back to when they were in high school. A tragic turn of
events forces them to separate but destiny doesn’t stop them from crossing each
other’s paths once again. Shin Joon, who was studying hard to become a
prosecutor, is now a popular yet snobbish actor and Noh Eul who went through a
heartbreaking tragedy is now a Producer who is struggling to earn a living for
herself and her younger brother.

they were then to where they stand now)
Here’s a sneak peek to what’s in store for you
Im Ju-Hwan plays the role of Choi Ji Tae and whose relationship to Shin Young gets revealed later on in the series. He disguises himself as a commoner and befriends Noh Eul. Im Ju-Eun plays the role of Yoon Jeong Eun and is Ji Tae’s fiancé. Being the only daughter of a powerful Congressman, she is easily able to get away with murder, unaware that her actions have cause another person to suffer for 10 years. It is quite funny to see her and her father act chummy given the fact that in their previous series together they were on opposite ends.

There is no doubt that the cast is talented and have
impeccable acting skills but honestly if it wasn’t for this particular cast I
would have never seen the drama and here is why.
It aired at the same time as Doctors and W and it did not
quiet live up to the viewer’s expectations as compared to the above mentioned
dramas. After KBS2 aired Descendants of the Sun which instantly won the hearts
of millions, one would expect a drama with a similar standard to follow. The
starting episodes were a bit slow, you look forward to the fact that the next
episode might get interesting but it just leads to further disappointment
The series was honestly a bit dragging. There are a lot of
instances where the secrets could have been revealed much before but it was
dragged on to almost the final episodes. It is no surprise that Shin Joon Young
was diagnosed with a brain disease at the starting of the drama, but I was
waiting and wondering as to when it would get revealed to the others. It was
only in episode 16 that Noh Eul gets to know episode 18 where it gets revealed
to the others. Instead of 20 episodes the drama could have easily ended in
about 10-12 episodes.
Although
the drama had it negatives, there is no denying the cute moments in the series
I
can see this part as many times and still find it undeniably cute

MOMENT –Let me just take a second to breathe
The entire concept of the drama was quite good although the only problem was of course as I mentioned earlier; the dragging. Towards the final episodes of the series it does get quite intense filled with loads of emotions, heartbreaks and drama. A lot of people would have predicted the ending but as far as its concerned, this was the best possible ending that one could ever write. Although I’m a mega fan of Woo Bin, I would rate this drama 5/10. Despite various perceptions of people, it is definitely a must-watch series of 2k16
For all those who haven’t read my previous blog on
‘Doctors’, I had mentioned the link from where I download the latest releases
with English subtitles, nevertheless, I’ve provided the link below once again!
I’m back next week with Lee Jong Suk’s ‘W’ so stay tuned for September 15th.
You do not wanna miss out on this one *_*
